Canada Is "A Land of Mediocrity"
Observing the obvious is one thing! But who can answer this? How did we get here!

I do get annoyed when I hear this coming from arrogant Americans or others from outside our Nation because it always seems to be an excuse to launch an agenda driven attack on some aspect of our nations business or policy.
Most of the time it is not founded in facts and reality but only a claim meant to be the launching point for an argument of some sort. Like BSE management or CWB policies or Banking Rules ........ etc!
But over the last few years in my efforts bring Canadian developments in environmental technology to market, I have witnessed mediocrity of thought, vision, practice in all relevant areas of the business, financial and regulatory/government realms.
In short our country has become a place where innovation and creation of wealth and opportunity have become phantoms. Things of the past that exist only in memories.
We have become a nation of timid bureaucratic sheep that seek only the comfort of the flock and the assurance of the shepherd, responding only to the barking of herd dogs or the obvious threats of nature. Incapable of acting in anticipatory, coordinated and reasoned effort to achieve common goals. Incapable even of identifying common goals or opportunities.
Doomed to act in the mass of the herd or the swarm of the hive until some calamity overtakes us?
