A bit of Christmas Past or Deja Vu ?

Some Quotes from A Christmas Carol – by Charles Dickens

To the Ghost of Christmas Past.....

`It's humbug still!'' said Scrooge. ``I won't believe it.''

``Why do you doubt your senses?''

``Because,'' said Scrooge, ``a little thing affects them. A slight disorder of the stomach makes them cheats. You may be an undigested bit of beef, a blot of mustard, a crumb of cheese, a fragment of an underdone potato. There's more of gravy than of grave about you, whatever you are!''

Now we all know that old Ebenezer was getting the ghostly smack down and tune up over the fact that he had really lost his sense of brotherhood and compassion for fellow men.

But it seems to me more of a problem these days with people who make a lot of noise about their compassion and care for humanity without any actual substance. Fakers and frauds hucksters and loons all kinds of finger pointers and scolds who feel the compulsion to play the part of the ghosts of Ebenezer. And to what end? Are we the Scrooges and mean spirited money grubbers or the oppressors of the poor overburdened clerks?

Not the last time I checked......

And so when the spirits come calling to play on your sentiment and fears just let them know that you will not be swayed by "Gravy or Grave"..........

Tell them Merry Christmas anyway!
