It's about time! One more good reason to have gotten rid of the useless, corrupt and parasitic liberals.

Government outlaws Tamil Tigers in Canada, declares it terrorist group
at 11:32 on April 10, 2006, EST.
OTTAWA (CP) - The federal government has outlawed the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam in Canada.
Public Safety Minister Stockwell Day says the decision to list the group, better known as the Tamil Tigers, as a terrorist entity is long overdue.
The group has used suicide bombers in its 23-year fight for an independent Tamil state in Sri Lanka.
The former Liberal government barred the Tamil Tigers from raising cash in Canada as part of anti-terrorism efforts after 9/11 but Liberals who rely heavily on Tamil support in Toronto stopped short of declaring it a terrorist organization or outlawing membership in the group.
A recent report by the group Human Rights Watch said Sri Lankan Tamils living in Canada face extortion and threats from Tamil Tigers raising cash for attacks in their homeland.
The terrorist listing, the 39th of its kind, means it is illegal for anyone in Canada to support or participate in Tamil Tigers activities.

Such ad hoc labeling and banning of entities is meaningless. There should be a legally acceptable definition of terrorism and *all* entities that fit the definition must be banned. For example, if we define terrorism as "any killing of non-combatant", then entities such as Israel, US and Sri Lanka also fit the definition and must be banned.
