Saturday Summer Beer Extra!
While I was combing the imports at the local store I noticed that our friends from Keewatin St. here in Winnipeg had a new brand on the shelf. A followup to the delicious Weizen Bock in the form of a genuine German Hefeweizen style beer!
They call this one Weizen Heimer and the boys really put their heart and soul into it!
A lite and hoppy summer time beverage that pours Golden but hazy and delivers a sweet summery melange of aromas that is really pleasing. The flavor is just like what you find in a German beer garden in summer and gives away nothing in quality. There's a unique malt that reminds me of wild hazzlenuts with a hint of spice combined with just the right kind of hop that leaves you with that bit of citrus on the palate. Finishing clean and refreshing there is plenty of reason to have another draught!
Like all the products from this excellent local brewer it comes in a 1/2 litre bottle

Call your friends and tell them to pick up a few extra on the way over put the brats on the BBQ and enjoy!
