Why Is The World Not Perfect Yet?

It's The Pathology of The LIberal State of Mind !

Everything that allows people to prosper or take pleasure in their lives is evil and must be controlled and taxed. Or so it seems.....

Alcohol - controlled manufacture, marketing and distribution, controlled vendors, controlled and criminalized use of while taxed at a rate of over 80% .

Tobacco - controlled manufacture, marketing and distribution, controlled vendors, controlled and criminalized use of while taxed at a rate of over 90%

Energy - controlled manufacture, marketing and distribution ... controlled vendors .... soon to be controlled consumer use of energy (see Ontario) ... taxed at a rate of over 90%

Recreation - mandatory use of safety equipment such as helmets etc. , see Bicycle Helmets etc. arbitrary controls on when and where activities can be performed.. parks, designated areas, banned from or limited to specific route and public spaces ... proposals under review for ever broader areas of regulation and enforcement and even criminalized ownership of items like firearms ( which should rightfully be classified as tools or equipment just like a skill saw)

Competition - Mandatory sports governing bodies, government regulation, taxes on venues and events, imposition of requirements for insurance and safety measures. Many activities banned and criminalized.

Enterprise and Commerce - With the spirit and will to prosper all but choked out of our society in every possible way and our youth robbed of incentive or even estranged to the concept of earning and achieving through perseverance or the idea of earned respect as opposed to entitlement ..... what is there to left to regulate or tax or otherwise interfere in and attempt to control?

Somewhere along the way all the good intentions seem to have been overpowered by the need to simply control and stifle human activity.

Now let's see the evidence of how all this control and regulation and taxation is making the world a better place.

Should we NOT be completely free of risk and harm by now?

Eh?
