My Old Standby Reading List!
After reading a very good post about media bias at Cjunk ( click on the Title or the Link ) I was moved to repeat a post from way back in the archives.
I have a short list of 3 books that talk about manipulation:
1) Is The Hidden Persuaders by : Packard Vance
2) Is Manufacturing Consent, Noam Chomsky and the Media by : Chomsky and Achbar
3) Is Culture of Complaint, The Fraying of America by ; Robert Hughes
All three books deal with various aspects of how and why the information you receive is tainted.
Bias the mainstream media is a fact and it behooves us all to learn to recognize the efforts of those who would influence or manipulate our perceptions.
