Lia Fail - The Stone of Destiny
My first Scots Beer!
Pours cleanly with just a small cream coloured froth that settles down to a nice lacy skim.
The body is clear and amber-brown. Nice and clean with just a little effervescence to keep the babe alive and well.
My nose isn't working at peak efficiency but there are lots of nice aromas coming from the brew.
It's got those floral and spicy hops riding on a base of rich caramelized malts! A combination that always makes my mouth water.
And taking a draught we find creamy smoothness accented with an initial sweet kiss that leads into the dark and slightly bitter mid body.... finishing with a chocolate like flavour that makes me want another .... I oblige the call for more.
Like many good beers with a full compliment of senses pleasing attributes Lia Fail is a beverage you want more of just because it pleases so well.
