Friday's Beer!

Conceived in San Francisco - Brewed in New York!

In a 355ml bottle and 5.5% abv.
from Schmaltz Brewing of Saratoga Springs New York.

It's He'Brew - "The Chosen Beer "

This particular sample is Genesis Light Amber Ale ..... and they claim that chutzpah never tasted so good!

Well it is amber and it is seemingly light.

She pours clear and produces a thin head that dissipates quickly.
The Nose is at first a little hoppy like a Canadian domestic and then a little undertone of caramel malts. The first taste is a bit dry and the hops make a floral and herbal like impression until the malts gain over them with the sweet toastyness. This bottle finished a little on the dry side and left a slight metalic aftertaste. It could be that this bottle was on the shelf too long or got banged around in transit. It was not the greatest beer experience I've had by far but I am going to give it another try in the future!

Get another opinion Here or at the Disgruntled Chemist !

Overall I'd like to like this beer just because it's got such a cool bottle and a catchy name .... we'll see what happens next time!

L'Chaim !!

And don't forget to celebrate life a little and you can do that Over At The Broom ! where Darcey and the gang show up regular with Blues Tunes and beers!

Hey there. This is Zak from Shmaltz Brewing Co. Thanks for the shout out on the Genesis. Sorry it wasn't a stellar experience, but don't lose faith in us. That metallic, copper penny taste is not part of the planned flavor profile so could have been a dud. We've got lots of new stuff out now, so I hope you'll give us another try.

Thanks for dropping by Zak...
I plan on giving it another try.
Maybe you can contact the distributors here and get them to stock up on some other products too??

Cheers!
