Food Safety

With the recent outbreaks of Listeria in Canada and the frequent findings of contamination in produce and meats across North America the FDA in the US has finally relented and decided to allow the use of Irradiation using specific ionizing radiation to kill microbial contamination in food.

For the time being it's going to be limited to produce like spinach and lettuce but it should be extended to ALL forms of food that are packaged.

It should have been common practice over 20 years ago but was stopped by hysterics of the usual sort we get from the ignorant and the flakes of the granola munching and hemp fiber wearing sorts.

Well now that people are starting to actually get worried about where their food comes from and what sort of problems might be associated with it could we be seeing the ascendence of some Common Sense ?

An outlook that is long overdue. Medical News Today ... has an article.
