Friday's Beer !

Say "Na zdorov'ya" ("Na Zdorovie!?) to Old Rasputin......


From North Coast Brewing Co. of Fort Bragg California.

12fl oz and 9% abv of rich dark bad boy beer.

This one's quiet coming down the pipe and then explodes in the glass producing a nice 1/2 inch of dark foam. I waded in and got a mustache full just to make sure before the top faded down to creamy caramel coloured skim.
The body is very dark.... so dark that virtually no light gets through. There is some steady effervescence but you have to get right up close to see it in the pitch.

Really nice aroma with bake shop and brewing coffee over top of some banana skins and faint flowers.
The first taste was powerful with a lot of coffee and dark chocolate on top of everything else. Complex spicyness in the background and a malty toasted caramel finish. Not sweet .. more like baker's dark cooking chocolate. A touch of some fruit flowers linger after the swallow.

I say this is a really good beer and for anyone who likes dark power in the glass.
