Friday's Beer !

Well last week was a busy one and along with all the travelling and visiting you'd think that there would be plenty of opportunity to try new beers.

Not so.....as I found out....
However, one friend did have something to offer that was new to me and that turned out to be Lakeport Honey Lager.

I had one chilled and in a nice glass and the experience was OK....

She poured like a typical domestic and produced a pale amber body with a short lived off white head,
The nose was pleasantly malty with a good blend of hop flowers.
Although I could not discern the honey specifically there was an undertone to the hops that produced an interesting scent.

Smooth and creamy on the palate with a clean finish, tame maltyness and just a hint of tartness from the hops.

All in all a pretty good beer and as my friend pointed out with glee .... only 28 bucks for 24!

Thumbs up .... but can we get them outside of Ontario?

Cheers!
