Of Nobel Prizes .... Incentive or Reward?

Bumped....

Keep your foot on Their Throat....

The awarding
of Nobel prizes to the likes of Alfonse Gore and Barack Hussein Soetero-Obama generates plenty of enthusiasm for those who support the agendas of such men.

Add to this list .... Rajendra Pachauri - who accepted it in 2007 on behalf of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change - is, at best, one more blunder away from having to resign its chairmanship, after having to apologise for a claim in its latest report that the Himalayan glaciers were likely to disappear by 2035. Related..

More-Dodgy-citations ....

In retrospect it seems the activist and agenda driven members of Nobel committees for the last few decades have been driven by the idea that their purposes would be served best by using the Nobel institution as a tool to incent people who are in a position to push forward sympathetic initiatives.

Going back to the days of the absurd peace prize award to Yasir Arafat in 1994 or Kofi Annan 2001 or the Jimmy Carter 2002 award (although this one perhaps was more award for steadfast dedication to meaningless and ineffectual mushheadedness than an incentive to carry on).

The point being that after falling into the trap of abusing what was supposed to be a reward in recognition of accomplishment by handing the things out like door prizes to those who came to the party with the best costume. The Nobels continued denigrate the value of the prize and the credibility of the Nobel foundation by it's choices and the public justifications for those choices.

What right did the Nobel committee have to award a Peace Prize to a political hack and climate activist set on inciting hysteria for his own ends? Well .... None.
So why did they do that?

Simply because the Al Gore propaganda flick that prompted the move was in support of their like minded friends at the UN who share the common socialist goal of forcing successful western democracies to bow to their will and surrender their wealth to the corrupt and failed nations of the third world.

Quite the incentive to keep up the "Good work" I'd say.

So what of Obama?

A Nobel Peace prize for the great accomplishment of what? Getting the US Democrat party nomination for presidential candidate? For getting elected?
For the sum total of ZERO accomplishment on the world stage he was awarded the Peace Prize.

Why?

Because they were absolutely sure that he would be the biggest booster of their own activist agenda. In essence they gave the President of the USA a BRIBE to carry on in support of their own agenda. ( The fact that Obama accepted this "Award" is a whole other matter to be dealt with in due time. I'm pretty sure there are at least a couple of federal laws that were violated.)

Now ... back to Rajendra Pachauri ... the guy who believed that it was OK to just make stuff up about major ecological and geologic events like the worlds glaciers melting away... and to use such alarmist fabrications simply because the fit with the defined view of a UN body.

Well, what's to be said? He was incented to carry on or rewarded for the efforts already taken.

In any case these actions do result in an implied incentive. A promise of laurels and coin to be made available to those who emulate the actions of such people. For the adherence to the dogma of the "progressive" left and the advancement of the socialist causes embraced by the UN and the mandarins of the Nobel Foundation.

While it is a sad thing to see the otherwise noble Nobel so reduced to a political tool of self serving and amoral elitists it is possibly a good thing that will result (unintentionally of course) where these institutions and people become recognized for the ill repute they do deserve.

Curse of the Nobel?
