It is more than handing out dollars.

Without any fanfare and certainly with NO reportage in the mainstream media ... the Obama administration enacted a book of legislation ... signed off by the Chosen One himself as an executive order ... that basically sets the stage for the federal government to take over most of the US economy and pretty much rob the populace of their civil rights.

Based on a lot of existing legislation ... all of of it bad ...and a number of preexisting agencies, committees and programs. The new 2012 version has been shaped by the white house gang and democrats to empower the president to declare a state of emergency for any reason and without recourse by those affected. In turn the federal government can assign any of these agencies to step in and take over state and local governments, law enforcement agencies and private businesses.

Of course that is the "worst case" scenario that the Washington Czars are quite prepared to pretend will never happen. They will, instead use the numerous provisions in the executive statute as a means to distribute taxpayer money. Much like the investments in "green" technology the feds will have free reign to "invest" public money in any and all of the their pet and policy friendly financial gambits.

Of course this is the "carrot" part of the strategy. The stick comes from the fact that the feds... at their whim ... can also interfere with any business or individual they choose to target with the same impunity as Hugo Chavez, Vlad Putin or in a more historic context ... Joe Stalin or Adolf Hitler.

Picture government installed executives running GE... or General Dynamics ... or your local food store chain ... or the power utility?  You already got a taste of this with General Motors and Chrysler.

The bailout money that went to Wall Street came with  conditions that will mean the brokerage houses will shut the hell up about Obama fiscal policies. I'm saying now there is a really strong "or else" that goes with that federal choke chain.

I once said that Barack Obama was the USA's Pierre Elliot Trudeau. That is putting it mildly. Unlike the damage that PET and the Liberals did to this country over 30 years or so and which we might be able to rectify within 10 to twenty years of responsible government, the much more effective destruction of America's foundations being set in motion by Washington power brokers is going to hit a lot harder and take much longer to correct and may result in irreparable harm to the economic security most of the free world. Not to mention the risks to freedom and security of the most fundamental sort.

While the current US government is busy doing everything possible to cause civil dissension and financial turmoil along with international instability they are also preparing to take over every aspect of the day to day management of American lives ... and NOBODY in the mainstream is talking about it!

Today I Heard on the News.......

Some "expert" proclaiming that by taking action against Iran the US ... and the non-muslim western world in general would be causing a catastrophe much greater than the alternative of allowing the islamist terrorist state to have their A-bombs.

Iran is nothing but a small time bully. Being given way too much room by people too afraid to do the right thing ... like our "expert". Afraid of the repercussions that might be attempted by the global terrorists that Iran feeds? Our "expert" certainly is.  Afraid of hearing the inevitable condemnation that will come from the rest of sanctimonious and and self righteous bystanders? See the "expert"....

The expert thinks that allowing the beligerent to go get his gun is the smart thing to do. Hoping that the SOB will not remember what he was having a hardon about in the first place.Yeah right!

These people are perfectly willing to sell out the entire human race simply because the reality of what needs to be done is too frightening to deal with. These people are cowards.

In the news again ..... Incompetent ... corrupt ..... executives from FNMA and FHLMC and the oversight committee (FHFA) expect to be rewarded with senior federal positions.

Are there NO adults left in the US Government?

It was these two agencies under the supposed oversight of the Federal Housing Finance Agency that were responsible for tanking the US economy in 2008. Although there is long and deep history of various members of the US congress and senate having failed the people of the USA ... some should even be in jail as I see it (Barney Frank)..... the fact the these agencies and the law makers who are supposed to keep them under scrutiny are still committing crimes is appalling.

How Did Our Universities and Colleges Come to This?

It seems that almost every day you hear about some liberal/progressive group behaving like complete jackasses. It happens a lot at colleges and universities.... like this !

For the most part it seems to be the students ie, the immature by right and reason of ... immaturity. More often ... it is the Profs and on occasion the administrations that are getting attention for the self indulgent and all too often wrong headed behaviour.

My observations:

It started with the dumbing down of teachers in the public system.
The requirements for high school teachers before the 1970s were fairly tough ... had to have an education diploma + at least a B(x)... university level math, english, science etc.
The only exceptions in my HS seemed to be shop teachers and the arts crowd. One of my science and tech teachers was a Peng... and a very good teacher as well as role model.

By the time my HS class had progressed to university grad level the campuses were having a tough time finding students with the grades and the proper credits to qualify for entrance.

The reason? Many of those HS teachers with real credentials went to work in the real world getting jobs that paid a lot more than the teacher salaries they were living on. At the same time the demands for new blood in the teaching talent pool were forcing administrators to accept less less qualified teachers... compounded by the fact that well educated university grads had plenty of opportunity to go into the real world instead of teaching.
Brain drain ... with the added complication in the form of meddling social experimenters who were in the early stages of f@cking up the school system through the introduction of "options" that allowed adolescents to elect whatever courses they wanted to ... which resulted in still fewer secondary school grads with any useful education.

A perfect storm that resulted in post secondary institutions being forced to lower their standards just so they could keep admissions up.

The next trend was the explosion of arts and liberal arts plus pseudo-sciences (humanities)in the universities and the downwards spiral of intelligence within faculties and student bodies.

Today ... the only serious students (a minority) are left struggling to get any value at all out of this sausage factory education system. I doubt if there is much of a chance for improvement.

The only way a serious young person should even consider university these days is if they are seeking Profession ... as in Medicine or Applied Science. Other than that ... go straight into job training.

As for those suckers who find themselves stuck with the losers that populate what remains of these institutions ... get out and save yourselves from a future of frustration and irrelevance.

I was looking for some references to the anti-social ideologues that so many on the left seem to hold up as examples to be paid attention to and whose ideas need to parroted.

This article by some guy using the moniker "Hank Hyena" 10 Stupid Human Hating Ecologists .... came up in one of my searches ... which I found apropos to the theme.

Hank wrote this for the Humanity+ at Parsons blog ... last year ...

And it fits in nicely with some other works that I have been following ... Revisionist thinking for one which I see as one of the crutches of the anti-social progressives. It seems to me that there has never been a case of these meddling monsters having any argument or justification for the things they wish on us all that does not begin with a false assumption ... or a falsehood ... or a false perspective of history.

The use of photo-radar and other systems is on the rise and your local government probably thinks that is just great. (Mine sure does.)

Just imagine a world where every inch of your progress along public roads is monitored and measured by data collection and analysis systems!

By integrating commonly available information tools and roadside imaging systems it is already possible for anyone with a few bucks and the will to do so ... to know exactly where you are in a vehicle at all times.

In Europe there is already a propaganda campaign to sell the implementation of these systems.

Consequences ......

While the mainstream media carries on about one manufactured issue after another the majority of Canadians .... who get 99% of their information from either sound bites delivered by talking heads on the boob tube ... or from the print equivalent mini-headlines and one line leads delivered in the dead trees medium ... are essentially in the dark about many real problems.

But it was enough, year over year, to bump the number of Canadians who work for government to 3,650,000 from 3,350,000 - a public-sector infusion of another 300,000 people.

Canada has a labour force of 16.9 million workers - and a public sector that requires the full-time services of more than one in five of them. At the end of 2008, the public sector needed to employ 19.1 per cent of the work force; at the end of 2009, 21.1 per cent. Local governments were the most aggressive last year - expanding staff by 3.2 per cent. Did anyone in the country detect any improvement in efficiency at City Hall? Did anyone observe any gain either in productivity or in performance?

The following are some statistics from the labour force survey (for February) which Statistics Canada released this morning.

Canada had a net gain of 20,900 jobs in February. The public sector added 45,600 jobs, the private sector lost 7,500 jobs, and the self-employed lost 17,200 jobs.

FTC to Regulate the Internet ... Why?

So the Democrats can create a more powerful government.

There is a pattern in the Democrat government from the Congress to the Senate and the Whitehouse.

The pattern is to make a lot of noise about fixing some great problem in a hurry and then passing regulations that do NOTHING to address the issue at hand. Rather the purported urgency of the crisis is used as a smokescreen to cover the institution of a another attack on the free market or the freedom of the individual.

America is being attacked on a daily basis ... from within.
