When it comes to exploiting other peoples difficulty and especially tragedy...
The Mainstream Media have become expected to and have never disappointed the expectation in behaving like a pack of jackals.

This type behaviour has lost them the Priviledge of attending any number of events where the personal lives of individuals are in turmoil. These media clowns have No entrenched Right to impose themselves wherever they desire and very much deserve to be excluded from venues where the principal parties do not wish them to be.

Responsible people understand this and do not appreciate the howls of protest from self serving media clowns who are kept out of events that deserve a normal or better than normal level of respect and decorum.

Such is the case of Canadian Military personnel whose remains are returned to their homes from conflict. There is Absolutely No Need for a media circus at these homecomings.

Now, for the Canadian Flag.

When a soldier is recognized at a specific event the Flag should and will be lowered.
Flags will be lowered in the parades, in the memorials, at the bases the soldiers served and in the communities the called home. This is according to the protocols of each responsible jurisdiction.

The nation does not lower its flags for individual soldiers.
The nation has official days of remembrance and honour for the nations military. It is on those days that the Nation recognizes ALL of The Military who sacrificed on behalf of the Nation.

The next person who asks for or demands anything above and beyond this should be clearly informed of these facts. There are too many self serving ignoramuses seeking attention when they should shut the F**k up AND show some respect.

Well the smug bastards of that day are mostly now parents and homeowners and business people who want to live in the suburbs and drive their cars, minivans and SUVs everywhere. With houses to heat and kids to feed and bills to pay…they need power to keep it up and they are paying right along with the rest of us. Well, that’s not really a surprise is it?

So guess who is now singing the praises of the benefits of Nuclear Power??

2) They effectively stopped development of nuclear power through their campaigns and forced governments into wrong headed power management programs that we are now paying a big price for.

Well, what’s done is done now maybe the rest of the grownups can get back to finding solutions to problems and building the infrastructure that is needed by everyone.

BUT, what got Raskalnikov to hurl his oats was the piece from this Monday's ish where among the usuall inane blather she invokes the names of a couple of indiandoms most overt white haters and historical revisionists....in particualar the unbelievably twisted Kahentinetha Horn.

I don't expect most of you to bother researching Horn but Ras provides some examples of her spitefull venom laced rhetoric........the POINT is that this LOCAL RAG that calls itself a newspaper needs to know just what the F**K is going on and needs to DO something about it!

The job of a reporter (IMO) is to find facts and to accurately report them. The concept of facts, facts finding and accuracy have yet to become part of the thought process for the navel gazing likes of Travers etal.

Perhaps the timing of this piece at Easter is fortuitous...the analogy of the Easter Egg Hunt for reporters springs to mind. However, these supposed Pros seem to be coming up empty. Too busy worrying about their empty baskets and not sharp enough to see the objects of the game.

Perhaps with the short list of issues and priorities that Harper has created the challenge becomes one of researching and reporting the complexities and nuances of the real news about the government. Its seems to me that these overpaid and self important members of the Ottawa PG or the Toronto Star are not up to the task of being real reporter.

Oh Yeah and BTW Travers .... An Honest Government can stand all the Honest Scrutiny that you can offer!

They're Going Home - Yaay!

Well....the seal hunt season is wrapping up with most of the boys going home with their quotas filled.

No thanks of course to the gaggle of international meddlers and busy bodies who use the annual event to promote their simple minded view of the world and generally make asses of themselves.
Most noteable among these asshats and moonbats are the US Humane Society, Greenpeace and the International Fund for Animal Welfare who got a well deserved taste of their own medicine from some locals this year.

Top award for stupidy and obnoxiousness goes to Rebecca Aldworth the self righteous spokesperson for the USHS who was arrested in the Gulf of St. Lawrence for breaking the terms of their observer permits during the Gulf of St. Lawrence events. And subsequently denied permits for the northern operation.

According to Aldworth:
They have a Constitutional RIGHT to act as observers and interfere in other peoples business.
* No you don't...you get a permit if the Fisheries and Oceans department decides to give you one!*

They plan on pursuing legal action against hunt supporters in Cartwright and in the eastern Quebec community of Blanc-Sablon, where about 80 residents surrounded a small hotel Thursday where activists were staying.
* Good luck with that! And, by the way how does it feel to have a a little activist action in your face?*

Aldworth claimed residents rammed a van carrying activists, and complained that police were too slow to offer an escort away from the hotel.
* And the Locals have already claimed that one of your precious activists struck a pedestrian with a vehicle! But I suppose you think thats OK because you are so righteous and superior!*

They also claim to be going to court against the federal Fisheries Department for denying Aldworth and other activists observer permits during the hunt on the Front.

* Yeah Right! Good luck with that one too....see comment about permits above.*

ST. JOHN'S, N.L. (CP) - An animal rights group documenting the annual seal slaughter off southern Labrador pulled out Friday, saying protesters felt threatened after confrontations with local hunt supporters.

They left as the kill ended for most large vessels and at least one fleet of smaller sealing boats, when hunters filled about two-thirds of their quota.

A spokeswoman for the International Fund for Animal Welfare said a helicopter carrying anti-sealing activists was confronted a day earlier while trying to refuel in the Labrador community of Cartwright.

An ex - AT&T employee is claiming that the telecom carrier is in collusion with the NSA to spy on Americans by a vast information gathering effort. A self described civil liberties group had already started a civil suit to attack the US governments security measures.

Let me say this about that:
1 - The telecom carriers in north america are required by law to provide facilities in the Central Offices for law enforcement to access systems. This is called "Legal Intercept" and is governed by the laws of the land.
2 - The fact that an employee of 20 years only recently discovered this is testament to the incompetence of the employee and a pretty good indication that the security rules are being followed.
3 - The information provided by the former employee is in the form af an affadavit that contains mostly speculative statements made by that individual.
4 - Given the status of this ex-employee perhaps some speculation may include whether he was fired, layed off or truly retired as indicated in the press so far.

My assessment:

1 - The ex-employee is a fool who obviously didn't have a clue about the nature of his business.
2 - The ex- employee is motivated by revenge against the former employer.
3 - The civil lawsuit is a tool of a leftist organization that is out to create politcal embarassment.

4 - The MSM is going to blow this story WAY out of proportion without doing any fact checking.

Government outlaws Tamil Tigers in Canada, declares it terrorist group

OTTAWA (CP) - The federal government has outlawed the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam in Canada.

Public Safety Minister Stockwell Day says the decision to list the group, better known as the Tamil Tigers, as a terrorist entity is long overdue.

The group has used suicide bombers in its 23-year fight for an independent Tamil state in Sri Lanka.

The former Liberal government barred the Tamil Tigers from raising cash in Canada as part of anti-terrorism efforts after 9/11 but Liberals who rely heavily on Tamil support in Toronto stopped short of declaring it a terrorist organization or outlawing membership in the group.

A recent report by the group Human Rights Watch said Sri Lankan Tamils living in Canada face extortion and threats from Tamil Tigers raising cash for attacks in their homeland.

The terrorist listing, the 39th of its kind, means it is illegal for anyone in Canada to support or participate in Tamil Tigers activities.
