"Across the country, the national average is 84 public sector employees for every one thousand people. In Alberta that figure is below the average at 81, but in Manitoba, there are 103 public employees for every 1,000 residents. This means that after adjusting for the size of their populations, there are 27 percent more government employees in Manitoba than in Alberta. If public sector employment rates in Manitoba were aligned with the Canadian average, taxpayers would have saved $1.2 billion last year."

Turns out that not only is our province the fourth highest (per person) recipient of federal transfer money, we are also second highest taxed on middle income wage earners. We are in the running for highest public debt (per person) and have more civil "servants" than any other province!

I am embarassed to say that I am a resident of Manitoba living on the rest of Canada. If we could only get rid of the Socialists and get back to running the province for all the people and not just the unions, we would be in a much better place.
Embarassing ..... yes.
Too late though .... for the trough hogs have already done an irrepairable amount of damage.
Not only that - due the percentage of Manitobans on the teat, and ones that aren't continually leaving, we will have an NDP government in perpetuity. We are beyond repair. The only solution is to follow the smart and leave.
