beer is a social drink. you can drink beer in a comfortable manner, instead of sip-sip, and still carry on a converstaion for hours.
geologists, obviously, are a sociable bunch.
as are construction workers and laborors in general.
Beer is part and parcel of the development of civilized society.
It is just one of the things that separated our ancestor visionaries and builders from goatherds, dirt scrabblers and scavengers.
Beer is in fact a great gift to those who show the ingenuity to make it and to those with the grace and good nature to share it.
