What would possibly take my mind off all this garbage?

So ... call it mid-life crisis or whatever.  I need a new diversion to get my head out of the daily grind.

Apparently some link showed up with a malware issue.

Looks fishy still as when I go there and follow the warning I get this URL...

Friday's Beer

Warsteiner Premium Dunkel

Once again I find myself going back to a past indulgence.

Just can't seem to find anything new for the beer shelf or the Friday sampling and so .....

Pouring a very nice dark copper colour with a small and short lived head. There's a nice banana peel aroma to it along with some hop flowers and underlying toasted malts.

Not a very strong aromatic but a nice blend.


The palate sensation is smooth and mostly holding the malt flavours. The finish leaves some hopiness and it's alright for another taste as soon as you swallow the first.

An all around nice beer in my opinion, for folks who just want to relax and quaff a couple along with some easy going snacks. Great served really cold and nice at about 10deg. C.

Other opinions abound Beer Advocate .

I found an article from August that looks cool ...

Engine #9 at the Mount Washington Cog Railway has been converted to run a diesel engine on biodiesel instead of coal powered steam. The formal unveiling will take place September 6th.

Located on Mount Washington in New Hampshire, the Cog Railway has been taking visitors to the 6288 foot summit since 1869. It was the world’s first mountain climbing cog railway. The steepest section of the climb, named Jacob’s Ladder, is a 37 percent grade where the front and rear of the train are separated by an elevation difference of 13 feet. Sounds like an interesting ride!
