The "Harper" Government

You've read the headlines a thousand times and heard the talking heads of the MSM say it....

"The Harper Government"!! Expressed with sneers of contempt and surrounded by that constant air of liberal self righteousness and superiority. As self proclaimed progressives have shown time and time again that they have no qualms about using the english language in any distorted manner to define the targets of their contempt, they cannot abide having their own words taken from the pejorative to the positive .....

And NOW ....

In yet another effort to manufacture some controversy that might buoy there hopes of a LIberal resurgence ... The Ignatief LIberals and their helpful friend at Canadian Press, Bell Globemedia, CBC and all the rest have decided that if the Conservatives do exactly what they ALL have been doing since Stephen Harper came to the PM Office.....

OTTAWA — Federal Liberals are moving swiftly to capitalize on public outrage over Conservative attempts to rebrand the government of Canada as "the Harper government."

They've produced a radio ad that will begin running Saturday in Quebec, expressing shock at the Tories' effrontery in equating the government with Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

"Like you, I am profoundly shocked," Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff says in the ad.

"It's totally unacceptable. The government of Canada is not the government of Mr. Harper, it's the government of citizens, the government of all the citizens of Canada."

The Canadian Press revealed Thursday that a directive was sent late last year to public servants, advising them that "government of Canada" should be replaced in all federal communications with the words "the Harper government."

Never mind the FACT that successive LIBeral governments did exactly the same thing when they thought they had something to gain by it.......

Your moral and intellectual betters of the liberal media reserve the right for themselves alone to decide when our government of Canada will be called "The Harper Government" or the Conservative Government....

Well I have news for all of them ... It is Your Government and MY government .... but if Stephen Harper wants to call his governing party "The Harper" government .... well that is just fine with me. At least up until the point where they lose the right to do so.
