Well actually it's not the job of the "Tea Party" to point this out. Not any more than it was Their Job to point out the questionable pedigree of Barack Obama. 

The fact is that it was and should be the business of the Mainstream Media like the clowns at CP and the Montreal Gazzette and all the rest of the LIberal media to observe and report on those facts.

Well I'm willing to bet that both turd polisher Cheadle and his buddy Rae prepared for this little ambush... and that neither would have actually known what "Resolution 292" was if it came up in an explanatory context .... not in casual discussion.

The only thing that Baird needs to remember is that Cheadle is a weasel journalist who has for years specialized in exactly this type of stunt.

You've read the headlines a thousand times and heard the talking heads of the MSM say it....

In yet another effort to manufacture some controversy that might buoy there hopes of a LIberal resurgence ... The Ignatief LIberals and their helpful friend at Canadian Press, Bell Globemedia, CBC and all the rest have decided that if the Conservatives do exactly what they ALL have been doing since Stephen Harper came to the PM Office.....

OTTAWA — Federal Liberals are moving swiftly to capitalize on public outrage over Conservative attempts to rebrand the government of Canada as "the Harper government."

They've produced a radio ad that will begin running Saturday in Quebec, expressing shock at the Tories' effrontery in equating the government with Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

"Like you, I am profoundly shocked," Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff says in the ad.

"It's totally unacceptable. The government of Canada is not the government of Mr. Harper, it's the government of citizens, the government of all the citizens of Canada."

The Canadian Press revealed Thursday that a directive was sent late last year to public servants, advising them that "government of Canada" should be replaced in all federal communications with the words "the Harper government."

Never mind the FACT that successive LIBeral governments did exactly the same thing when they thought they had something to gain by it.......

Your moral and intellectual betters of the liberal media reserve the right for themselves alone to decide when our government of Canada will be called "The Harper Government" or the Conservative Government....

Well I have news for all of them ... It is Your Government and MY government .... but if Stephen Harper wants to call his governing party "The Harper" government .... well that is just fine with me. At least up until the point where they lose the right to do so.

In a piece of faux news presented by Business Review Canada (businessreviewcanada.ca) some writer thinks it is noteworthy that some CPA wrote a report based on some study of CEO compensation. The spin put on this piece seems to be that by camparison the average wage earner is paid less than 1% of what these corporate hot shots get.

As if this has an intrinsic signficance!

Note worthy is the fact that the usual leftard MSMers (CBC - Torstar -Vancouver Sun - CTV etc) have latched onto the piece. Because .... as we should all know ..... any chance to present a theme that encourages non thinking acceptance of such received wisdom from your moral and intellectual betters is an opportunity not to be wasted.

So what's new?
Regardless of the questions asked or the results published ... polls are not news.

But of course real research and real reporting takes time and effort. So when you've got words to sell and space to fill in print or on the air calling up your handy polling service gets you an instant low effort excuse for putting ink on pages and sucking air up time and congesting bandwidth on the web.

And so all day long our usual collection of media clowns were right there in lockstep with the headline that told the "Really Important" story of the day ... "86% of Canadians LIKE Obama"!

Yep and of course that gives a good excuse to segue into a little of the old Bush Bashing that comes so easily to these knobs.

"By contrast, a similar poll in November 2005 indicated that 73 per cent didn't like Bush. Only 21 per cent viewed him positively." Says the CP opinion pusher.

So this is relevant to what?

Of course the Teleprompter Jesus is only less than a year into office where GW was into his second term. But that's all just the same isn't it? Because everybody knows that Bush/Cheney and company were evil personified. And "everybody" knows that because the folks in the MSM kept saying so ...... and they still are.

It's so easy to have an opinion when your facts have been selected for you and the conclusions drawn in advance by your betters. So don't forget Bush = Evil .... Obama = Good.

Also of note ... the recurring theme of Hate America comes easily to hand.

Winnipeg police say a man was assaulted after trying to abduct a four-year-old boy from his front yard.

Police say the boy was standing outside his home Saturday afternoon when the man picked him up and walked away.

The man travelled about half a block with the boy before the child’s parents and neighbours spotted him and gave chase.

They attacked the man when they caught up with him.

The suspect, who hasn’t been identified, was taken to hospital for treatment and released.

But one would hope they meant released from hospital into the custody of the police!

Gun Cops?

Apparently Canadian Press has uncovered a new branch of police forces in BC.

"Gun cops still waiting to be consulted on new firearms strategy"

VANCOUVER, B.C. - Police dealing with a flood of guns fuelling a shooting war among gangsters in Metro Vancouver are still waiting to be consulted about ambitious new measures to crack down on illegal firearms.

Officers associated with agencies that fight the trafficking and use of guns have told The Canadian Press they don't know how the plan, part of a gang crackdown announced by B.C. Premier Gordon Campbell a week ago, will affect them.

The uncertainty is frustrating for front-line investigators who've been pushing for years to improve information sharing and add resources to stem the rising number of illegal guns on the street.

Campbell announced an ambitious package of measures Feb. 13 to confront gangs and the violence they generate.

They include assuming control of firearms regulation from Ottawa, creation of a provincial weapons enforcement unit and tighter control of gun dealers and so-called prop masters who supply firearms to movie and TV productions that often end up in the criminal underworld.
