The conservative National Review reported Wednesday that the Texas lawmaker is considering a presidential bid in 2016.
Cruz was born in Calgary in 1970 to an American mother and a Cuban father — an immigrant to the U.S. during the Cuban revolution — while the couple worked in the oil business. The Cruz family returned to the U.S. when he was four years old; the senator grew up in Texas.

Well actually it's not the job of the "Tea Party" to point this out. Not any more than it was Their Job to point out the questionable pedigree of Barack Obama. 

The fact is that it was and should be the business of the Mainstream Media like the clowns at CP and the Montreal Gazzette and all the rest of the LIberal media to observe and report on those facts.

Bureaucrats & "Policies"

“We do not allow weapons in our schools for any reason,” said Ottawa Carleton District School Board spokeswoman Sharlene Hunter.

A remembrance day event in Ottawa has been cancelled for the time being because the school board bureaucrats have a "policy" on weapons.

Of course the policy they are talking about was obviously one of those post Columbine kneejerks which  spread like wildfire across the world following that event.

I have long held the opinion that one of  the reasons school boards and school administrations are so prone to taking politically correct stances and making them policy is that it provides an easy way to effect simple ass covering measures and avoid taking responsible positions that might have to be explained or actually thought about from time to time.

The Ottawa school decision is a perfect example of this. After all... guns are dangerous and children should be protected from danger.  The school and the school board get to pretend they have done something noble by enacting the ban while simply creating a blind to hide behind in any issue that involves weapons. Now from behind the safety of their curtains (hear no evil - see no evil ....) they self righteously conflate a military commemoration and national tradition with an act of psychotic barbarism.

Of course ... in the world of the petty bureaucrat ... this is simply them being brave and firm in applying the "policy". A policy that quite obviously relieves them of any responsibility for the consequences of such blind enforcement .... quite conveniently.

NOW we learn that ...

The US House Committee on government  oversight  has Ford execs in Washington to explain why they pulled their TV  ads bragging about not taking Obama bailout money.

Ford later reinstated the ads on the web only... after widespread questioning and criticism in the public arena.

Now ... Ford execs say the ads went away just because thats how they run ad campaigns. As if any successful ad was ever pulled just because they don't like to wear it out?

Oh yeah ... and Ford execs say the are in favour of the bailout .... because the auto manufacturing business is just one big happy family that needs to get along to get ahead!

In a piece headlined "Canada a big presence in Libya..... despite UN security council snub.... " one intrepid Jschool product exercises his profound awareness of the world with a lame attempt to conflate the two issues.

Most of the commenters at the NP online service get the fact that this is about the level of journalism usually produced in a high school news review .... and of course at least one thinks it is an invitation to share his total lack of knowledge with an irrational biliation about "Harper and the Conservatives".

To be clear ... Canada in no way needs to be on the UN security council ... and it is entirely up to us to choose whether we need to participate in anything they sanction or promote or to pay them any heed at all....

The UN security council is an organization without any credbility and it's majority members the least qualified to be making any judgements or plans on behalf of other nations. In fact, given the pathetic performance of the UN at large and their steady degeneration into a club for third world parasites to enjoy the trapings of power and import at the expense of you and Me....

For my money .... I'd like to see Canada stop contributing anything to this cabal of corrupt losers.

Responding to questions concerning the state of Manitoba's economy and the performance of the NDP in managing the same... Sausage boy was busy spinning madly to convince the audience that things are not so bad ... after all what's $490 billion when you've got the magic money tree to go to?

Actually he had me sucked in for a moment or two when he (Lett) acknowledged to some degree the fact that someone who voted for Greg Selinger on the basis of his "Balanced" budgets might lack some understanding of the reality behind those budgets.

BUT ... then ... of course he went back to an apologetic tone about how certain months are tougher and leaner for the government because ... Now Here It Comes!!! ... Hydro Revenues are down. Of course this affects the appearance of fiscal mismanagement as being worse after April.

According to .... Sausage boy... it's the "Appearance" of fiscal mismanagement the "Idea" of incompetence!

Sure thing Meat!

Now let us get a couple FEW of things straight shall we?

First - We live and function in a Capitalist society where the markets are Supposed to be allowed to work. Like it or not ... this is the fact of our nation and our economic foundation. Capitalism and market competition are not theories to be debated but are the way things work.

Second - Any interference by government in the economy undermines the ability of that market and economy to function. This is true whether or not the intention of the interference is to create a greater good or to rectify some perceived imbalance.

Third - The One and Only way any government can obtain financial resources is to take money out of the economy. It does not matter whether they do this by borrowing, which devalues the currency and places an ongoing economic burden on the entire public. Nor does it matter if done through taxation. The result is detrimental to the economy and therefore to the wellbeing of the public.

Fourth - It does not matter if it is done by rifling the bank accounts of public corporations such as Manitoba Hydro which is simply a theft of the assets that rightfully belong to the stake holders ( that would be every single resident of Manitoba) as well as to force those citizens who use Hydro to pay greater costs in compensation for the loss of assets and revenue at the Crown corporation. The result is detrimental to the economy and therefore to the wellbeing of the public.

Fifth - No matter how much money a government redistributes it cannot claim to be "Driving " the economy. This is because the wealth has been taken FROM the economy in the first place and because there is no possible way to do this without wasting resources. The result is detrimental to the economy and therefore to the wellbeing of the public.

Sixth - Because of the 5 factual reasons stated above any government that has become the largest economic influence in the economy under their jurisdiction has done more harm than good. The result is detrimental to the economy and therefore to the wellbeing of the public.

And that ... Sausage boy is why economic ignoramuses like yourself and your NDP friends should never, ever be left in charge of a piggy bank let alone a public trust. It is the reason why socialist governments always ... every time... without exception end up broke and in debt.

It is also the definition of incompetence.

There no excuse for this depth of ignorance.

Unfortunately it is the norm for lefticles in government and sycophants in the public and the media to remain willfully and happily immersed in the belief that they can and will get different results if they just keep doing the same things over and over.

And THAT is a working definition of deranged.

Unless of course their intention is to undermine the economy and impoverish the public.

That would be a working definition of traitorous!

Jeremy Hinzman's reprieve from scheduled deportation on Tuesday came after Federal Court heard an Immigration official had made serious errors in assessing the hardships the deserter and his family would face if forced back to the U.S.
