Raise a fist of triumph and solidarity for the Louis Riel School Division and vice principal ... Mr. Anonymous for daring to propose that ALL of the Crosses be removed from St. George school stationary, signage ad displays. Why so shy? The staff and Mr. VP Anonymous should be proud to display their names on the school directory of staff ..... shouldn't they?

We can't allow these emblems of Christian oppression continue in our schools ... can we?

Give Me a Freekin Break Day

Today in the Province of Manitoba we are enjoying ... not necessarily "celebrating" ... what has been titled "Louis Riel Day".

The fact of the matter is that the whole reason for having a statuatory vacation day in the middle of February is based on one sole fact. Canadian winters in general really suck and that every one is in desperate need of a chance to break up the tedium of short days and shitty weather.

This February holiday business  all started with one of those meaningless "name a day" exercises where a government makes itself appear useful in some way by by placing an official stamp of  recognition on some event or idea ... no matter how irrelevant or meaningless in the larger scheme of things. You will often see these "days" highlighted on your wall calendars and possibly wonder just what the heck they mean or why they are highlighted in such a way. They also provide an opportunity for the empty meat deprived brain chambers of the public media to blather on ... thus filling up broadcast time print column space.

From Timeanddate dot com :  "Family Day was first held in Canada in the province of Alberta in 1990. It is supposed to reflect the values of family and home that were important to the pioneers who founded Alberta, and give workers the opportunity to spend more time with their families. Family Day was introduced in Saskatchewan in 2007 and in Ontario in 2008. One of the reasons for introducing Family Day was that there was a long period when there were no holidays from New Year's Day until Good Friday."

The impetus for adopting the February general holiday Manitoba ... our Happy Socialist Paradise ...the commissars of the NDP government chose to use the event as an exercise in Politically Correct propagandizing. This was done by holding a competition among school children to come up with a name and theme for our new sanctioned day off work. Of course, under the direction of those paragons of deep thought and historical awareness ... our public school administrations ... the inevitable result was achieved and we are saddled with yet another piece of official support for a man whose accomplishments are at best questionable.

But this is the way  with socialists. There is no fact or history that cannot by revised and used as tool to justify their own actions. In fact, there is seldom any action taken by socialists that is not done under the pretense of some such manufactured justification.
Which brings me to my point.
Why is it necessary that we go through such an exercise in the first place? Is it not sufficient to say that in the interest of public good ... that being good health and well being in the face of tiresome and wearying winters ... we the people of this northern nation deserve a break?

Do we actually NEED a government manufactured contrivance to justify doing what we chose to do for our own sake?

I for one ... am quite happy to take this day for what it really is and spend a day off work, free from my obligation to an employer, doing exactly whatever I feel like doing with my own time.
No contrived justification necessary.

BTW .... Metis Online has a trove of information about Riel related things.

For my part .... I'm spending some time wondering how many of these school children are ever taught about anything other than Riel centered history when it comes to Manitoba and the foundations of our province.

Trouble is coming to the paradise of Manitoba.

The evil conservatives are raising their ugly heads in defiance of the people's will to challenge the rightful rule of the caring party of EnDePees.

Fortunately the righteous union of nurses has sent out the alarm and warning pamphlets to remind the peaceful peoples who may have forgotten (or perhaps never known) that Chief Evildoer ... Hugh McFadyen ... plots to overthrow the nurses from their rightful place in setting health care policy.

Good thing too ... because fellow peasants it is not as if our heath care system has not improved drastically in the last 12 years!



Oh yes! And be greatful too that Christine Melnik has awoken from her dream life of raising donations for libraries and attending teas at seniors homes. Yes, the mighty Christine has risen to don her battle garb and have her picture printed in many full colour pamphlets that will strike fear in the hearts of evil mongering conservatives in Riel.

Also the mighty leader ... the ever upright and honest .... Greg Selinger has arisen!

One can only hope that soon the war cry will arouse the Teacher's Unions and the CUPE unions and MGE unions and the student unions ... so that the great majority will will dominate and silence once again the rank noise of the individual, the self reliant centered, the haters-bigots-racists - homophobes-knuckle draggers. Yes silence once and for all those pioneer invader and thieve Manitobans who would deny us our rights! Who would let us freeze and starve as we beg for the return of our warm nanny's lap. Who would expect us to ...horror of horrors ... face up to our responsibilities.

No doubt ... this means that for certain .... we will remain as safe and secure as we ever were in this socialist paradise from the frightening evils of conservative thoughts .... conservative practices .... and conservative policy.

Because ... as we all know .... those things would make our lives so much worse.

NEW CONVERTERS FOR LONGER WEST-SIDE BIPOLE ADD $1.1 BILLION

Manitoba Hydro confirms the estimated $1.1 billion additional cost to build new conversion equipment to support BiPole III down the longer west side.

Manitoba Opposition Leader Hugh McFadyen says the NDP’s out-of-touch decision is putting Manitoba Hydro’s future in peril. (He's right)

“We’ve had engineers, the Farlinger report, and even CEO Bob Brennan confirm the new converters are directly tied to the west-side route.” During committee on March 8, 2010, Brennan told McFadyen the converter stations were only added, “when we decided to come down the west side.” Additionally, the transmission study conducted by CMC Consultants (Farlinger Report) stated, “unfortunately, due to its long length, its characteristics make it unsuitable to operate with either of the existing BiPole I or BiPole II converters, requiring it to have its own converters designed to operate with the longer lines.”

Informed Manitobans have known since 2007 that new converters would be essential for the longer, less efficient west-side route.

Last month, Manitoba Hydro confirmed the estimated costs for the Northern and Southern converters, plus escalation and interest, would be $1.1 billion. Experts have also confirmed that the additional converters would not be necessary if BiPole III were built on the more efficient, shorter east-side route.

And the moral of the story?

Never ... Ever ... allow children or lunatics or criminals or the NDP to have the keys to the bank accounts.

The ancient Greeks believed fire was given to man by Prometheus, and thought it had sacred qualities. Eternal flames that burned in front of Greek temples, flames were lit from rays of the sun. And so.... The Olympic flame is lit in front of the ruins of the Temple of Hera in Olympia, shining light on the eternal connection between the ancient and modern Games. Light, in fact, is considered to be associated with the concepts of truth and upright morality, purity of spirit and mind etc....

Got That? Sacred... Gift of the Gods... Eternal...Rays of Sunlight... Truth... Purity...?




Of course .... the spirit of the Olympics is secondary to the opportunity for local yokels, who deem themselves your betters, to get their own fat faces out of the trough just long enough to take a picture with the symbolic Olympic torch.

Greg Selinger has become Manitoba's next Premier.

After TEN years in power and not one of the important issues faced by Manitobans is any better than before these jokers can along.

After hiding under the shroud of Doer's crap slicker in various positions and popping out only when convenient to spew some lefty rhetoric or spin some lies for the party Selinger has had it pretty good.... Up Till Now.

Now as premier of Manitoba .... Greg Selinger OWNS these issues:

Out of control crime - thanks to revolving door justice and hug a thug ideology - Thanks to Selinger and friends.

Hallway medicine, worse than ever .... Ten Years in Government and wait times are rising - Thanks to Selinger and company. Still and ever more often Manitobans being denied critical tests or treatment and left to die. Still Manitobans being lied to and bullied into believing they have no options in health care. Need an MRI? go to the US ... anywhere will do.. if you can afford it.

Need cancer treatment? A few hundred grand at the Mayo Clinic will get it for you.

Our Economy is in the tank and Manitoba is facing a big budget shortfall - Thanks to Selinger.

Think any new jobs are coming to Manitoba .... think again. After raping the crown corps MPI and MB Hydro Selinger has his sights set once again on private enterprise.

Still no accountability from Welfare and CFS on waste and incompetence. Still no justice for dead babies in the care of the provincial agents.

Manitobans deserve leadership that can be trusted - Greg Selinger and his pals are not the answer.

Trust The NDP ?

As Finance Minister, Greg Selinger knew about problems with the Crocus Investment Fund four years before the collapse. He told his cabinet colleagues that “by 2003, virtually no money will be available for new investments,” but as Finance Minister he said nothing to taxpayers, and thousands of Manitobans lost their hard-earned savings.

Mr. Selinger has also admitted that he knew about the plan hatched by NDP insiders to claim phony expenses that their election campaigns had never incurred.

Illegal rebates of $76,000 of your tax dollars to the NDP.

As Finance Minister Greg Selinger said nothing.

Manitoba is facing a big budget shortfall next year, and something must be done to close that gap. Greg Selinger has strongly suggested he will adopt a new Harmonized Sales Tax, which would impose a new tax on everyday items ranging from kids' clothing to gas at the pump.

Selinger said he supports property and business tax increases. He paid lip service to balanced budgets while increasing Manitoba's debt, and some of his highest-profile campaign backers have even called for reversals in Gary Doer's personal income tax cuts.

Selinger is where he is because he promised to put the demands of organized labour above the concerns and the welfare of the people of Manitoba.

Goverment mandated tuition freezes ala Selinger and friends .... destroyed the ability of the Universities to maintain their infrastructure and forced a steady errosion of the quality of post secondary education.

School boards still allowed to implement policies that parents never asked for and do not want. Still allowed to set budgets that tax payers cannot afford to sustain and still allow unions to dictate education policy all without any sort of accountability to the people they are supposed to be serving (students and parents) - Thanks to Selinger and friends.

Greg Selinger is in the driver's seat and he is going to made to account for where we are going.

No more free ride for the Dippers and their incompetence, arrogance and ignorance.

Even one Selinger supporter I know called the union delegate dole-out a “racket.” Frankly, it’s completely anachronistic to earmark 20 per cent of the delegates for unions in the first place, especially when union donations are banned. But when the unions can’t even get organized enough to find a few hundred NDP members among the rank-and-file, the party establishment shouldn’t be seen handing out the leftover delegate spots to whomever they please.

Is this really how a modern, First World democracy picks a premier? Really?

A Brief History Of the Tough On Crime Dippers

SINCE ...the NDP have been in charge of the happy socialist paradise we have heard many proclamations from the various appointed ministers of justice and of course Grinnin Gary and others of the NDP ilk about their BIG plans for justice in Manitoba.

Well it's term number THREE for these clowns and so far we have ..... Zero ..... "0".... zilch .... nada in terms of actual action and even less in terms of results.

We have heard excuses.... we have heard them blaming Ottawa ..... we have heard them claim to be "studying" the issues .... and we have seen ... no action... not even a failed attempt at doing what needs to be done to help ensure that we live in a civil and safe society.

Unless of course you want to trot out the MPI immobilizer program .... where the meddling busibodies chose to sidestep the law and order side of the equation by imposing mandatory installation of electronic equipment in the private property of Manitoba drivers.

A neat way of avoiding actually cracking down on criminals.

And so this week we have the erstwhile comedian Dave Chomiak offering still more of the NDP tough talk. This time on GANGS .... again!

Well DAVE ... we have heard this ALL before and in the years in which your clown friends have been in charge we have had nothing but abject failure to curb or even keep up with the explosion of gangs, gang membership and gang activity.

When it comes to flim flam and flummery it's hard to find anyone more dedicated to the practice than Gary Doer.

Unless maybe you take a look at Gail Asper.............

Back in 2008 in regard to Doer's glib promise of over $280 million from Manitoba Crown Corporations ...... for the Benefit of Gail Asper .... I wrote:

"In politics it's a government that knows it's on the way out that spends every last dime they can and makes long term commitments that will impoverish incoming governments for the foreseeable future. Like other past NDP governments this is exactly what Doer is doing.
Boondoggles like immense cost overruns on Hydro Projects, the Floodway expansion overruns, the proposed West Side Hydro Bipole III power corridor and it's inherent waste and the unchecked pillaging of the bank accounts of crown corporations like Hydro and MPI."

So what has changed since then?

Well, not much except that the Asper group has finally had to admit that there is no way they are going to cover their costs. Or that they even knew what the costs are going to be or will know for that matter. No problem says Gail Asper ..... we have "asks" she says.

That and willing politicians who play the roll of sucker on behalf of the public ... still preapared to keep dishing out YOUR money for THEIR friends.

Now, I believe that Izzy asper was a great business man and a great Manitoban.
And I think he deserves a memorial to his achievements.

His achievments however have NOT ONE THING to do with the"Holocaust" or human rights.

And there is no way that the people of this province owe him or his family millions of dollars to be funelled into a bottomless pit called "The Human Rights Museum" for the sake of HIS legacy.

And yet these parasites persist in abusing their influence in order to make sure that Manitoban Taxpayers and Hydro Customers and Autopac customers and MLC customers well be gouged at every oportunity to satisfy their personal whims.

Tell ya what Gail and Gary etal .... just cough up a few bucks out of your own purses and buy a nice plaque!

And try to keep your sticky fingers out of OUR pockets!
