In a piece of faux news presented by Business Review Canada (businessreviewcanada.ca) some writer thinks it is noteworthy that some CPA wrote a report based on some study of CEO compensation. The spin put on this piece seems to be that by camparison the average wage earner is paid less than 1% of what these corporate hot shots get.

As if this has an intrinsic signficance!

Note worthy is the fact that the usual leftard MSMers (CBC - Torstar -Vancouver Sun - CTV etc) have latched onto the piece. Because .... as we should all know ..... any chance to present a theme that encourages non thinking acceptance of such received wisdom from your moral and intellectual betters is an opportunity not to be wasted.

OTTAWA - Stephane Dion's "green shift" has the potential to become a significant vote-getter for the Liberal party if the communications-challenged leader is able to sell a carbon tax to Canadians, a new poll suggests.

The first national poll taken since Dion unveiled the proposal last Thursday found most Canadians did not know enough yet to form an opinion.

But once the policy was explained to respondents, the Canadian Press Harris-Decima survey found, close to half - 47 per cent - liked the idea, while 39 per cent said they were opposed.

The key finding, said pollster Bruce Anderson, is that Canadians who did not describe themselves as Conservatives were favourably disposed to the idea of a revenue-neutral carbon tax.

Two-thirds of Liberals, 59 per cent of New Democrats, 62 per cent Bloc Quebecois supporters and 48 per cent of Green Party supporters said they were in favour of the policy - all, except for the Green Party, by wide margins.

New York Times Publishes Smear Story on McCain

With a piece of yellow journalism that is sure to stand out as one of the LOW points in America's history of blatant agenda driven bias The New York Times has published a non story based on innuendo and conjecture and in the process relegated themselves to the status of grocery store check-out line reading material. People have been speculating about how bad things could get for the self described "America's Newspaper of Record" .... well there's your answer.

Not surprisingly Chris Mathews on MSNBC thinks NYT is the "Best Newspaper in America"!

I guess Chris really admires any media outlet that can be so consistent in their hatred of all things conservative and in their willingness to lie and manufacture stories.


NYT has been digging on this for over three months not getting any factual substance to support their allegations and in the middle of the primaries goes front page with a SMEAR on the Republican Front runner! Apparently they have heard from unnamed aides who worked for the Senator in back in 2000 that the "staff" was worried about the appearance of impropriety.
Senator McCain was friends with a woman who works for lobbying firms in Washington. All out in the open and no evidence whatsoever of any kind of impropriety.

BUT .... The NYT manages to create a controversy out of this anyway.

Especially if it's already been determined in the media that the driver is a Sympathetic figure!

Now I'm getting some flack in the comments about being harsh! Fair enough ... maybe if Lisa and her family are suffering from the shock of this then it's NOT FAIR to be critical at this point!

Lisa Klassen is on a respirator in the EU still .... and certainly does deserve our concern for her wellbeing.

I want to know what the Black Box recorded about her speed and braking!

The RCMP should have looked at this by now and found out what she was doing.. and I say if she was speeding she could (I recant the should be) be charged with reckless driving. But will not be because the RCMP seldom if ever do.

Apparently this makes me in need of a "Chill Pill".....OK! then I'll admit that facing charges at this point would be too much.

I hope that Lisa IS alright in every way!

I say just answer the one real question that the reporters have not answered "What caused the driver to lose control?"

She joined Foreign Affairs and International Trade six years ago and has held various jobs, including deputy chief of protocol and director, diplomatic corps services, and director, Korea and Oceania division. She was criticized when she moved to Foreign Affairs -- one Toronto paper suggested she was quietly given a $94,000 job without writing the foreign service exam. At the time, Conservative Senator Marjory LeBreton criticized the move, saying, "It's proof that [Mr. Chretien] views the whole government and all its departments ? as his own personal fiefdom."

Well for starters I'm not sure that this: "Stephen Harper's Conservativegovernment" is exactly the right way to describe OUR Elected National Government!

But on the other hand I do see a certain logic to sending a Liberal - especially a Chretien connected one to that hotbed of graft and corruption that is Nigeria!
