The Media Who Create and Sustain the Tone

Are Responsible for the deterioration ... and the lack of civility in civil discourse. Because it is the media who feed off the manufactured controversy.

They print and broadcast outrageous and offensive statements from all corners. They do so without regard for context or even comment on motivation for these political barbs or simply uninformed opinions or even outright lies. It is only when the tables are turned on their pet themes that bleat about "civility".

Well ... you know what? This exactly WHY there is ever less regard for so called credibility of the Mainstream Media. Even if people believe the messages being promoted by the media, only the most clueless and dense readers,listeners and viewers of the "news" are unaffected by the blatant manipulation that is being practiced.

And so it goes that ever more people avoid these media assaults on their consciousness and psyche. Because, even if a person is not conscious of the twisting and manipulation there is a natural reaction to being subjected to information that conflicts with reality. The natural self defense mechanism in most of us makes us want to avoid the stress created by this disconnection.

Of course these clowns in the media continue to react to the loss of audience by producing ever more of the same self serving garbage and doing so in ever increasing volume.

The MSM claim and perhaps even believe they hold the moral and intellectual high ground in public discourse. The facts are the exact opposite.

Just for The Heck of It ....

I jumped into the news agregators today for a taste of the MSM and right off the top found this pile of rancid poo from the Globe&Mail ... The call it "Signs of sanity..." .... I call it something very different. Because what we have here is A pair of twits .... 
writing for the Globe start with a false premis, build on that baseless assertion by piling on a load of conjecture and wrong headed analysis spiced with assertions founded in ignorance and climax with a stunning display of incomprehension. All as an excuse to build a case for blaming the Federal Government for the impending consequences of Torontonian stupidity.

To be clear ... those warning statements they refer to were in no way based on concern for what might happen to the speculation driven GTA condo market.  As much as these so called journalists would like to believe it .... nobody gives a shit. Although I am sure that like minded, self important Toronto Liberal twits will be blaming the Conservative FEDERAL government for their problems when the market does tank....

As for the G&M .... there will be NO bailout for you useless mendacious purveyors of poo.

I'll admit to starting my mornings with CNN some days ... Robin Meade is really easy on the eyes and there is seldom any serious attempt to DO news or tackle the tough job of spinning liberal talking points at 06:00........ but .... then again I am NOT in the demographic segment that  these cretins hope to gain eyeballs from and I do not EVER turn CNN or any of the other alphabet broadcasters on in the afternoon or evening.

As most of us learned along the way to turning off the TV news .... CNN is basically not about actual news coverage anyway. They are simply incapable of not being complete idiots.

Our Turn to Lead?

Really? It might have been "Our time to lead" or some other such banality ..... BUT ... the thing is that in ten seconds or less the advertiser pretty much shot the whole wad on a most blatantly presumptive assertion .... assumption ....

As I was dozing off last night I was clicking through the TV channels during a late night commercial break.

The odd thing that caught my attention for about 10 seconds (the duration of the bit I saw) was an advert for the Globe&Mail online....

A Red and white logo reminiscent of Liberal Party election banners rampant beside a series visual bits showing the usual sort of shiny multi-culti and youthful faces you might expect from an ad campaign for any Canadian publisher or liberal election office pushing the "We're the real Canadians!" line.

I guess then that the gloves are off?

Since the G&M is no longer offering any pretense to be something other than the liberal voice of Canada .... marketing arm and electioneering office?

Now I am not surprised by this ... or not much surprised ... but ... really!

Just what do they hope to achieve? Perhaps the folks at the G&M would like a new tag line?
I'd suggest .... "Subtle is not our thing!"

I also wonder just what it would take to get elections Canada to investigate the Globe and CTV and CBC for illegal donations in kind for the billions they've contributed to the LPC in free advertising and electioneering.

Following a spectacular crash at this past weekend's NASCAR race at Atlanta Our Canadian broadcasters all seem to have been infected with a sudden infatuation for the four wheeled racing business.




Not that they have any love for it or knowledge of it... merely that it provides an opportunity to sermonize about the sports deficiencies as seen from the towers and broadcast studios in the GTA.

That and the fevered imaginings of the their chicken little pin heads.

And so CTV today offered a "special report" on the matter..... having of course profound knowledge of speedway racing from watching Hollywood's ever so educational productions like : Days of Thunder .

Sure! I can sum up what these pinheads know about NASCAR in three letters S F A ..

A Comment on The Blogs

In respect to the fact that the "One" has accomplished absolutely nothing positive on the domestic or foreign front, (Other than those things which could be done by edict and in support of the lunatic congress of Nancy Pelosi and co. AND if you consider any of those things positive) it seems the good folks in the media and other activist groups are seeking ways to explain away what was completely predictable ... and was completely predicted by those of us with functioning brains and an awareness level above that of an 8 year old.

What would we do without the Mass Media to remind us of all the things we should be cowering in fear of?

The blustering buffoon portrayed as Ted Baxter is the most benign representation of the essence of our modern MSMers.


How should we respond to a group that finds justification in consistent failure to understand or describe the world with even marginal accuracy and yet proclaims itself worthy of illuminating our lives with their world view?

Aside from the incessant misrepresentation of things geo-political, cultural or historical we have the mandatory fear mongering over things they clearly have no understanding of whatsoever.

A daily litany of garbage represented as fact that we are supposed to believe without question because of course ... there are "experts" being quoted.

From the hysterical reports describing the imminence of mass outbreaks of virulent disease to the unending and ever contradictory reports provided by a never ending string of "experts" concerning what foods are either poisoning us or curing a host of ailments.

From the panicked reports of foul weather wreaking havoc hither and yon to the incessant and often contradictory presentation of half baked predictions about impending doom from virtually every possible quarter of nature's domain.

Every day we are bombarded with the supposed wisdom received through the assumed diligence and dedicated investigation of what passes for journalists, reporters and supposed trained observers of the world we live in.

Economic disaster, Self destruction by way of run away scientific research (one of my favorites), killer asteroids from space, catastrophic resource depletion, out of control technology or development. You name it we've been told that we are about to die because of it.

And yet somehow in spite of all this amassed knowledge, profound understanding and keen witted assessment we are offered day after day, year after year and decade after decade we somehow manage to dodge every supposed bullet that we are warned is about to smack us in the frontal lobe.

How can this be?

Well, to put it plainly and just because it is quite plain to see, that as a whole and in their very nature, the Media amongst all us humans are the biggest group idiots in the world!

What they are doing is nothing more than projecting their very own fears based upon their own inadequacies and brewed in the pit of their own grand ignorance and inability to demonstrate logical capacity or even marginal ability to learn from their experience. At best a "Rain Man" sort of entity filled with an amazing capacity for simple fact yet incapable of processing any of it. At worst a paranoid schizophrenic with a pathology so twisted no one in their right mind would want to do anything but put an end to it's miserable existence.

Perhaps the next time you are tempted to take something you might read in a paper or see on a television as fact you just might want to consider what sort of intelligence has processed the information you are getting.

For my two cents, letting this collective entity influence any factor in my life is a non starter.

Hairspray Helmet Comes Unglued!

It was a bad hair day for CBC's Heather Hiscox.


In any case things took an interesting twist today.

Just in time for my amusement who should appear on my screen but Heather the Hairspray Helmet, looking just a little less symmetrical and full bodied than usual. And prattling about the new LIberal web site. Now that got my full attention. New LIberal Web site?

Ok ... it's really just the same old site with some updates. Apparently the LPC wishes to reinvent Stephie, the guy who tried to eat a Kalekasis hot dog with a knife and fork, as a more rugged and robust .... More Canadian .... sort of guy!

Header's got quite the shock it seems. For as she wound herself up to her dramatic climax and we were to be shown the visual of the New and Improved version of Dion's image make over it seems that someone in the video department got the message wrong and put up one of the "He's NOT a leader!" clips from the CPC website!

..... Que back to Headers caught bug eyed with her mouth open doing a double and tripple take on her monitor. It was a sweet moment. As she scrambled to explain what it was we had seen she offered it as a take from the "anti Harper" website then a video from the conservative bashing Harper site, then more or less correctly as the conservative video bashing Stephane Dion.

The speed at which her head bobbed from monitor to camera was remarkable. The effect of seeing her eyes contort from bugged out incredulous to "Can't believe it" squint and the fish flapping hands clenched into white knuckled fear spasm while her mouth alternately gaped and pursed like a fish in a bowl was ... to say the least, very amusing.


Was the laugh I enjoyed at their expense worth the $billion the Canadian taxpayers subsidized these self appointed Liberal shills?

Almost .... I'll be enjoying the schadenfreude for the whole day!

Now Orleans is getting nervous about the new hurricane brewing in the Caribbean.

"Gustav" is currently headed over to Cuba from The Dominican/Haiti ... Although there is no clear indication where it will go or what it will do the media are happy to raise the specter of Katrina and set off the alarms. Even Ray Nagin brought his empty noggin home from Denver to watch his "Chocolate City" get pounded once again.

Although I'm sure that residents like Steve Weaver, 82, and his wife who stayed for Katrina, and were plucked off the roof of their house by a Coast Guard helicopter. Will get out of town if necessary.
"Everybody learned a lesson about staying, so the highways will be twice as packed this time," Weaver said.

Or contractor Lawson "Sonny" Brannan, a construction company owner, who was busy renovating a client's home Wednesday. Brannan calmly went about his business, but nonetheless kept a watchful eye on the weather.

"I'm not going to worry about it until I see it in the Gulf," he said. "Then I'll make my decisions."
