Pissing on Trees

The events at the National War Memorial in Washington that transpired yesterday highlight the contempt that government employees in general and the Obama administration in particular, hold for the citizens and public they are paid to serve.

Using the national parks employees to set up barricades, obstructing lawful access by citizens to public spaces, strikes a new low for this administration. The parks service has no resources to keep the public washrooms open ... but they do have the time and staff to erect these barricades and guard them with the sole purpose of antagonizing a group of veterans who had previously arranged to hold a ceremony at the memorial site.

The veteran's group moved the barricades and went ahead with their observances and  plans are under way to continue holding assemblies in protest ... in spite of the lack of washrooms.

As one spokesman for the veteran's group said:
“We have people here that are 80 and 90 years old and they closed down all the bathrooms?” said Tony Nussbaum, a 25-year veteran of the Air Force from Iowa and a leader of the state’s Hero Flight group. “I’m about to just start pissing on the trees.” …

I think that much more pissing on trees is in order.

Some people take this as a sign that Air Canada is not in as bad a shape as being claimed. Well ... no it is not as bad a a MSM reporter makes out in his efforts to  create a story. AC is still a piece of crap and deserves to be broken up and sold off just to remove any possibility that taxpayers will be robbed again to bail the worthless company out.

However what I take away from the information provided is that the pathetic efforts of Sun TV news to fact check (non-existent)... and the willingness of people to jump on any bandwagon that comes along just go to show how gullible people can be.

The Canadian Press Harris-Decima survey has the Tories flying high with 41 per cent support, well ahead of the Liberals at 26 per cent. The strong showing comes despite days of negative media coverage over Tory campaign gaffes and a high-profile flip-flop by Harper.

The telephone poll - which surveyed 1,406 adults Monday through Thursday - put the NDP at 14 per cent, the Green party at nine, and the Bloc Quebecois at eight.

Harris-Decima CEO Bruce Anderson said the Conservatives picked up ground in every region of the country, in urban Canada, and among women.

He attributed the strong showing to a Tory advertising blitz which appears to have succeeded in convincing voters that Harper is a moderate.

"Gustav" is currently headed over to Cuba from The Dominican/Haiti ... Although there is no clear indication where it will go or what it will do the media are happy to raise the specter of Katrina and set off the alarms. Even Ray Nagin brought his empty noggin home from Denver to watch his "Chocolate City" get pounded once again.

Although I'm sure that residents like Steve Weaver, 82, and his wife who stayed for Katrina, and were plucked off the roof of their house by a Coast Guard helicopter. Will get out of town if necessary.
"Everybody learned a lesson about staying, so the highways will be twice as packed this time," Weaver said.

Or contractor Lawson "Sonny" Brannan, a construction company owner, who was busy renovating a client's home Wednesday. Brannan calmly went about his business, but nonetheless kept a watchful eye on the weather.

"I'm not going to worry about it until I see it in the Gulf," he said. "Then I'll make my decisions."

You see this pathological behaviour in the Shrieking and finger wagging and name calling that occurs whenever someone dares to speak harshly or critically of the sacred cows in the PeeCee world or even to demonstrate plain truthfulness and honesty in matters of import.

In many cases all it takes is the perception of some group's collective dignity being called into question to set off the petulant tirades.

Yet these people insist on attacking anyone and anything that actually does protect their sorry asses.

The truly odd thing about this segment of society is how these insecurities manifest themselves.

From public displays of what amounts to organized temper tantrums ( see just about any protest) .... To organizations dedicated to sticking it to "The Man" "The System" "Big Government" ( see ACLU NAACP etc.)

With the US engaged in political and military struggles on so many levels these days and especially in the looming shadow of federal elections next year the shrieking types (see Moonbats) are feeling empowered and ever more justified in their public displays of petulant self indulgence.
What was once considered aberrant behaviour by society (freekshow protests) is becoming or has become common place and seems to be tolerated to a degree which is truly astounding.

The absurdity of some of the issues embraced by the Moonbat culture is even quite comical.
..... although they do tend to take themselves oh so seriously.

Take for instance the current circus of protests around the issue of what is being called torture.

When I was growing up as a pre-teen we played games that were more frightening and dangerous than this thing called water boarding.
Buy me a beer some time and I'll tell you some stories! Let's just say that what passed for entertainment and sport in the 1950's playground would result in plenty of social agencies responding in panic to the "crisis" of child endangerment and calls for all kinds of "action".

That could be the theme for a whole other story though....

Back to Water Boarding .... by the standards of the childsplay that I and my peers engaged in this would be considered a participant sport! IN fact I'd bet that outside of the PeeCee circles of the modern American ... you could set up a waterboard as an activity for the local carnival and charge money to take the ride.

Not so much though for these crybabies ... Code Pink Water Board Protest .... Although if you watch the video you'll see that they are voluntarily doing it to themselves!

That was yesterday and still today we have CTV and the Globe pushing their fiction......CBC TV also. However, their attempts to change the channel from The Strife their Liberal Masters have been inflicting on themselves is NOT working.

Supreme Liberal Stephane Dion continues to prove that he has not a clue about anything ... where the rubber meets the road ... Dion stands by looking like a deer caught in the headlights of a semi.

The actual Leader of Canada ... Our Prime Minister Stephen Harper .... Says

" Fish or Cut Bait " ! Perfect timing and bringing the LIberal sycophants to a howling rage..... Called Out and no ammunition, no weapons, no guts, no heart and no brains.

The MSM was going out of their way to play up supposed disagreement or conflicting opinion over the operations in Afghanistan. They were plainly spinning like mad to generate controversy at the time. Subsequent events have helped to fuel this manufactured theme and certainly Gordon O'Connor's shift from the Defense has provided more fuel for this theme. However, the reality is that O'Connor left because he had become such a target for controversy. This may be seen as a success for the likes of CTV and the Globe&Mail but in reality just a political expediency forced by these self appointed shapers of public opinion.

Gordon O'connor was outstanding in his role as Minister of Defense and accomplished everything he was set to do. Regardless of how the MSM chose to spin it.

Now we have these same folks in the media building on the previous baseless themes to portray Hillier as the victim of political vendetta.

It's called Completing the Circle or as I like to think of it Circling the Square.

The media campaigns to make the government look bad over the management of The NATO mission in Afghanistan is like building a box. - General Rick Hillier certainly is very good at his job which is Top Soldier , he may even be the very best man for that job ..... this does not mean that he is the ONLY man for the job OR that he should be in that role indefinitely.
- It is NOT General Hillier's doing that he became the focus of this media attention.
- It is NOT Hillier's doing that the Canadian Forces are being renewed and equipped for the future ..... this is the doing of the Conservative Government and mostly Gordon O'Connor!
- General Hillier's term in the position of Chief of Defense is NOT open ended and in FACT in Feb. 08 will have reached the 3 year mark that usually marks the changing of the guard as it were ... this DOES NOT mean that he will not renew or extend his role after this date! ( with apologies for my taking several reviews to get this right)
- Prime Minister Harper has categorically denied that this story has any merit and CTV reporter Bob Fife chooses to interpret his words as being ambiguous

- General Hillier is being built up by the media to serve as a Bat with which to beat the Government.... he is being used as a political tool by unelected, unaccountable and unscrupulous purveyors of opinion and would be shapers of public sentiment - The MSM


With the opposition parties incapable of offering any sustainable or credible debate about our military involvement in world affairs the Water Carriers of the MSM are doing the job for them.

Because just brining us the facts and reporting them is not enough?

The MSM Foster's Class Envy! The Steady Drip of Socialist Ideology

These seemingly innocuous little pieces we find in our MSM on a regular basis really do start to get on my nerves!




When I read headlines like this I always cringe. Not a bit of information in this article goes beyond the attention grabbing efforts of the reporter and publisher to extract the immediate emotional response to the classic old Saw that "The Rich Get Richer While the Poor Get Poorer!"

The steady drip of socialist ideology that is being purveyed by our MSM does nothing to contribute to the betterment of our society!

So! Take a look at the information the Canadian Press extracts from a report by StatsCan you would think that their exclamations are a simple fact!

Excerpt: "A new study says the gap between rich and poor is widening in Canada, appearing to confirm that the rich do indeed get richer while the poor get poorer."

"Statistics Canada found that inequality in after-tax family incomes has increased over the past 15 years."

They go on to make points about how the Tax System is Not to Blame and cite some comparisons: "The study says that while the tax-transfer system changed in many ways throughout the 1990s, it reduced income inequality by as much in 2004 as it did in 1989."

The article wraps up with some figures about the top 10% of earning families Vs. the "poorest" !

NOW - First of all just what is the definition of "Inequality" as CP has chosen to frame the issue? What is the assumption that is underlined by this statement? Are they saying that there is some underlying principle whereby incomes are assumed to be equal or that this is a natural order or that equality in income is somehow the objective our economic system or our society?
What the CP does is let us know that they are socialists who believe this and imply through their context that in fact this is the way things are! Pure socialist propaganda!



Second - The inference in their remarks about the "Tax System" continue this theme. There is no basis for the assumption that our system of taxation has anything to do with "Reducing Income Inequality"! This is another bit of socialist mindset that most would recognize as right out of the little red books of the Marxist/Leninist school of economics. And CP delivers the assertion without a qualm!



For those of us who have not been brainwashed by the Trudeaupean ideology the FACT that we live and work in a Free Market Economy has not been lost! Those Taxes we pay are supposed to be used for the Administration of the Nations Business for the Protection and Security of our Interests and to provide services that we have decided are incumbent on the government!

NOT to provide equality of Income!

The entire bent of the article seems to be completely oblivious to the fact that if incomes in any range have gone up it is In Spite of Increased Levels of Taxation!

So the top 10% of earning families have seen after tax incomes increase by 22% ! Well their effective tax rates have gone up right along with the income! What this tells us is the the market for well educated and highly skilled people demands those skills and will pay for them!

So the "Poorest" ( note how the piece does not identify what percentage of earners this represents) have seen a 11% drop! Well that's the market for uneducated and unskilled workers!

What CP isn't telling is the that all those in the middle who are working harder and may be making more money before taxes are getting nowhere! And that is BECAUSE of the Tax system!

The Writers and Publishers at Canadian press would love us all to believe in their socialist POV and buy into the idea that we are governed by the "principle" of state mandated Income Redistribution. They even have their supporters like Jack Layton, Gary Doer, Dalton McGuinty and and a host of other left wing political asses whose policies help to create even greater difficulty for that middle 80% of Canadian families.

But most of all CP lets us know without any doubt that their politics are what drives the way they present news to the public and their sympathies are NOT with the Canadian taxpayer but rather with the likes of these:

It's On ! - Manitoba Elections Are On!

And the local media is already getting their political licks in!

Using a question that was asked and answered in a fair and reasonable manner a Sun News reporter contrived to put words in the mouth of long time Manitoba MLA Jack Reimer.
Jack was asked if he thought the use of a female ex TV reporter like Erin Selby was a prop.

Mr' Reimer replied that it's common for everyone involved to want to be seen with the leader.

Which was later reported as Jack having use the word prop! Didn't happen that way and they know it! It was the reporter who described Ms. Selby as a prop not Mr. Reimer.

After the report came out the usual suspects were waiting to do the typical piling on without any consideration for the facts. The Dippers and their supporters in the media were all over it with liberal use of the term "sexist". Last time I checked the word *prop* meant a support or was short for propeller! How that would be sexist I don't know. But nevertheless, Mr. Reimer apologized like the gentleman that he is for the perceived impropriety.

I wouldn't have done that! As far as I'm concerned a TV talking head is just that A Prop!
And last time I checked being able to read a teleprompter qualified someone to ...... well read a teleprompter. Gary Doers assertions and Ms. Selby's blather about "New Ideas" are just more window dressing for the party of no substance! So Erin ...... you should understand that Jack Reimer did not spend 17 years in pubic service posing for cameras and reading from scripts.
I'm pretty sure that he also has more original ideas in any given day than you might have in your life!

I was watching a bit of mid morning news on CTV today and suffered through Robert Fife "reporting" on what's going on in around Canadian politics.
Once again Bob succeeded in reinforcing my belief that he is completely incapable of reporting anything because what he does is editorialize, opine and run a cheer leading school for Liberal sympathizers!

It's absolutely unbelievable how distorted this guys coverage of every topic is!

Bob is living proof that our MSM is so entrenched in their own world that they cannot even recognize their own prejudice. Smugly telling us peons how the world works and that our government is wrong about everything it does he goes on and on to impugn every last policy or initiative of the Conservative government while blindly defending every misdeed and failing of his beloved Liberals. From sneering swipes at government actions to smarmy and false denials of liberal malfeasance Bob just never lets up.

The Annual Seal Hunt and Clown Show!

Well I've been waiting for this! As the annual migration of idiotarians and animal rights activists descend on our North Eastern regions to chastize us for being so inhumane and evil.

The MSM is hanging on to every cock and bull comment and statement offered by the likes of Rebecca Aldworth from the US Humane Society.
Becky can be seen in numerous videos spewing nonsense about her "Right" to go where she wants to go and do what she wants to do regardless of the laws of our Nation and our rights to enforce them.
Aldworth is one of the key organizers of this annual publicity stunt in which millions of dollars are spent to denigrate the character of Canadians and criticize our policies while hypocritically contributing to pollution and harm to animals as well as human beings who are undertaking a legal activity withing the jurisdiction of our sovereign nation.

Aldworth by the way can also be seen in videos from last year where she is cursing sealers who her boat cut off and interfered with ...which by the way is a CRIME!
She is also the same idiot who was too busy pandering to a camera to go either rescue a dying seal pup or put it out of it's misery.

We start this years pandering to the activists by Canadian Press who offers:

OTTAWA (CP) - An "exhaustive" 14-month income-trust probe by the RCMP has resulted in charges against a senior Finance Department bureaucrat, but no evidence that anyone benefitted from an alleged government leak.

NO EVIDENCE THAT ANYONE BENEFITED ???

It has been well documented that numerous people did benefit and most notably Liberal Connected fund managers following meetings with then Minister of Finance Ralph Goodale and communications with Liberal Scott Brison ( remember "Alberta Can Blow Me!" ). These fund managers and their investment vehicles showed completely abnormal spikes in activity AHEAD of the official announcment by the Liberal Government of Paul Martin and the Finance Minister Ralph Goodale.

It may well be that Serge Nadeau did a bit of Insider Trading as he was armed with foreknowledge of the critical policy decision. This however does NOT address the LEAKING of the information!

For the RCMP to announce that there is no evidence of such a leak stretches their credibility to the tolerance of an over stressed latex prophylactic.

Incompetence? Corruption?

It seems the only person in the Canadian Government who can actually uncover any facts at all is Auditor General Sheila Fraser !

US Growth May Edge Canada! - So What?

Well they got the headline right but from there on in....
They go on to paint a negative picture of our Nations Economy which contrary to the implications of the article is doing just fine. It's very neat how economists can go about overreacting to both good or bad economic news. First over stating the upside and projections then when the things don't go as planned making like chicken little over the imagined failure to meet their own overly optimistic projections.

The only story here is that the US economy which was falsely portrayed in the MSM as languishing has in fact been running like a locomotive on a long piece of straight and level track.
It's been picking up steam and is now projected to keep accelerating.

Yes they will surpass Canada's performance. BUT when the US does good Canada does too!

So don't believe for a minute that we are about to go into a nose dive as these chicken heads are trying to imply.
