The story was teased on the front page of the English-language China Daily under the headline "Canada PM Flayed for Skipping Day 1" and was also featured on about a dozen Chinese news websites and various blogs on Wednesday.
Most stories ran with the headline: "Former Prime Minister Chretien Strongly Criticizes Current Prime Minister Harper for Not Attending Olympics: Will Pay Heavy Price."
Just like our homegrown MSM.....

The G&M included the obvious conflict of interest near the end of their article on this, but still lead with the "insulting the Chinese" theme.
Frankly, the more that Chretien is on display, the more likely voters will remember his true legacy.
Didn't read the Globe .....
You may very well be right about exposing Chretien .... And now I will go bite my tongue.... as the implications of "expose" and "Chretien" sink in.
