Singing the usual tired, leftover and rehashed tune that the poor are paying an unfair share of taxes in Canada and of course leading up to an argument that this fictitious situation is the fault of our current conservative government by first blaming Mike Harris. Piling lies and misrepresentation on top of falsehood and inaccuracy.

Show me your calculations fellows because I can prove you are using false assumptions and lying through your teeth! This garbage has been debunked over and over as the tools of socialism have kept up their line of attacking the successful and enterprising and blaming governments for creating an unfair system. Cut the crap.... the only thing these closet commies want is to have the ability to take all the wealth of our nation and dole it out like food rations to a dependent population.

I am NO fan of how taxation is managed in this country but I am less a fan of BS from people whose sole purpose in life is to foment dissent and class envy with phony controversy like this.

An Amy Winehouse Christmas

I seldom have any interest in commenting on current or even sort-of-recent pop performers OR especially on their private lives. I simply consider that regardless of what someone's gig is, what they do otherwise is just their own damned business.
Add to that the fact that I consider the cult of celebrity fascination to be the domain of complete idiots!

But I keep seeing Amy Winehouse in the news and basically it looks like she is setting new standards for rocknroll hedonism and self abuse! Considering some of the past masters of the lifestyle .... Hendrix ... Morrison .... Cash .... just to name a few it gets me wondering about what Amy's talent quotient is in the matter of Talent versus Notoriety. So I've been listening to Amy's music and I have to say that I do like her stuff. It's really too damned bad that "Living the Life" and the attention she gets from that intransigent attitude seems to trump the music.

At this point though it seems we're witnessing an epic train wreck so we might as well sit back and just take in the show ..... such as it is!

Monkey Business - Or Socialist Bureaucrats at Work!

In today's G&M Business section: News about Alcan and Socialist Government Idiots!

In a move that Hugo Chavez would be proud to claim as his own .......

The BC Utilities Commission (BCUC) has denied the aluminum mining and smelting company Alcan the right to determine the value of electrical power it generates with it's own facilities and to sell that power at market rates.

Alcan was granted water rights and the permission to generate hydro-electricity for it's operations at Kitimat BC back in 1950 where it built the two dams and generating facilities at both Kitimat and Komano for a cost of $500million at the time. Alcan was allowed to sell excess power back to the provinces Hydro Utility BC Hydro for market rates. The province got private investors to pay for two generating stations and got power for no more than it would have paid for the same from any other source.

Now Alcan has a proposed $2Billion expansion set up to get underway at Kitimat and a signed deal with BC Hydro to continue purchase of excess power at market rates for the next 20 years.
Still a good deal for the province and for the Utility because they get more capacity for the future without having to pony up the capital investment ( make the taxpayers pay for it). In addition the large smelting operation grows providing more employment and the lifeline of the community is extended another 20 years.

But is this good enough for the meddling socialists in BCUC? Hell no!
BCUC has refused to allow Alcan and BC Hydro to follow through on the deal.
Aside from all the legal ramifications, just what sense does this make?

Well to a thinking person living in the real world none!
But to those witless tools at BCUC it's better to try to strong arm the business and screw it's investors along with the community involved than to allow a private enterprise to benefit from it's own investment.
Alcan has served notice that it will withdraw from the project, effectively putting an end to the community of Kitimat!
Thanks to people like the directors of BCUC ...... The province of BC is surely becoming a Canadian version of Hugo Chavez's Venezuela.

Weather Is News !

Indulging in Schadenfreude !

Given the large amount of snow we've had and especially in the last few weeks and given that we are about two weeks from the official start of Spring .... I can understand a certain amount of interest in how our Canadian Winter is evolving.

But! .... In my heart I know that this is CANADA where we are living and that we may well have ... Cold Weather and Snow and all the usual things that happen between the months of November and May. We may even have major snowstorms in May for that matter. It's all happened before and there is NO reason to think that it cannot happen again.

So, as I watch the news reports this morning where our intrepid CBC reporters are telling us how difficult things are in Ontario and how deeply weary those poor denizens of Ottawa are of the winter, I just cannot help experiencing a twinge of satisfaction at the lessons that are being imposed on those folks who seem to think that they are somehow immune from these realities.

For those stranded would be travelers who have had their larks to warmer climates postponed or otherwise interfered with ..... I admit to indulging in a small measure of satisfaction at the predicament. After all ..... those vacations are hardly matters of great import to anyone but the self indulgent folks who are affected.

Winter! May it last until it's over !

We in Canada are not immune from it no matter where in the country we reside or do business.
And just as a matter of fairness and to keep some otherwise oblivious people in mind of WHERE we live and the NATURE of our physical world ...... I say keep it coming!

Credit has to be given to Breitbart for how he has manipulated the legacy media's weakness against itself. The speed at which this story grew is a direct result of how he rolled out the ACORN story. The legacy media has lost its monopoly on what is news and what is not. I think that will prove to be the real significance of this kerfuffle.

Rand and Ron are both useful idiots to the left who work to undermine the strength of  their enemies.  Their enemies ARE true conservatives and the heart and soul of America. They have no use for things that makes America or Americans strong and seek to foment discontent and division.

Not that McCain or his fellow RINO travelers are much better. It is only a matter of degree between actively facilitating the efforts of the left to destroy our society and merely caving in to the bastards.

Let's not forget also that we in Canada have  our own versions of this moral and ideological perversion in the body of Fake Conservatives .... When I Was Asked -

Angel.... "How many years, decades have passed since the emergence of “feminism”?

Well since the question is out there!

The womens rights movement in our western culture has its roots in 19th century England and Europe ... for the most part as privileged upper middle class girls were indulged with access to higher education. It did not happen often that a girl would be allowed more than a private tutelage under an adept teacher… but that was enough and it only took a few to get the ball rolling. Coincidently … this was also the age that spawned the popularity of socialist idealism among the well heeled and educated of Europe.

Now that’s all well and good!

Except that we are well past the point where the so called “progressive” ideas of the 1800’s can rightfully be considered either modern or progressive. It’s also well past the point where the obvious failures and weaknesses of these ideologies should be blatantly apparent to anyone with more than minimal intelligence and far past the time where blind acceptance of or adherence to the dogma of such intransigent fools should be tolerated.

The doctrine of the leftists is well beyond it's shelf life and as foul and rotten as canned vegetables from that age. The adherents are blind to the failings and failures of ideas that are spawned of era from two centuries ago. A thinking person would realize that if there was merit in them .... then somehow, somewhere in the last 100 years at least ... SOME society would have benefited from them!

As for the Women's Libbers , that group that really got the steam behind it in the post WWII era, were products of an indulgent time of change often pursued for no other reason than having change.

The 1950's and 60's saw the enabling of proponents of liberalisation of all social norms and traditions. The main protagonists like Goldman, Sanger, Dworkin, Brownmiller and most of their compatriots were in fact Socialist and Anarchists in philosophy who absolutely intended to use the methods of Marx and Lenin to define thought and language of debate in what was their agenda of pursuing cultural and sexual revolution. For them it was the socialist ideology and the strategy of it's most dominant proponents that showed the way. Complete with the language of "newspeak" and the required adherence to what they viewed as "politically correct" language and thought. All this helped by a generation of vacuous and self absorbed adolescents to act as the useful idiots of the campaign.

And where are we today?

Well for the most part not much better off as a society at least not in terms of any of the supposed benefits we were to see courtesy the feminists. In my opinion most of the much trumpeted accomplishments of the Libbers would have evolved over the last 50 years without all the negative crap and polarization their efforts engendered. You know... things like more educated women ... more women in educated and responsible roles in society and business ... more social freedom for every one .... more prosperity for everyone ..... simple things like that.

What would we have done without? In my opinion most of the political correctness that these harridans engendered ..... a lot of the short sighted and destructive socialist sentiment that young people seem to be so neatly indoctrinated to in our education systems .... much of the bleeding heart / do-gooder sentiment that puts the morality of "helping" even the most undeserving of society above the good of society in general ... and most of all we'd probably have a lot less of the Nurse-Nanny mentality that pervades so much of our government agency types.

In my opinion we'd be more prosperous, more secure and more at peace with the entire world if these enablers of dissent and dissatisfaction, these priestesses of vanity and self importance and these same false goddesses and phony intellectuals along with their distorted and perverse morality and ethos were shoveled off into the trash bin of history.

It will be a better day for all of humanity when the footnote in history books describes the failure and harm done by this false and very flawed ideology called "Women's Lib" that was spawned in the politics of class envy from the 19th century and fertilized in the moral bankruptcy of the late 20th century.

Next time someone tries to impress you by showing how progressive they are just let them know that the 19th AND the 20th centuries are OVER.

I'll admit to starting my mornings with CNN some days ... Robin Meade is really easy on the eyes and there is seldom any serious attempt to DO news or tackle the tough job of spinning liberal talking points at 06:00........ but .... then again I am NOT in the demographic segment that  these cretins hope to gain eyeballs from and I do not EVER turn CNN or any of the other alphabet broadcasters on in the afternoon or evening.

As most of us learned along the way to turning off the TV news .... CNN is basically not about actual news coverage anyway. They are simply incapable of not being complete idiots.

My New Project

I've begun collecting data on the effects of climate change and the socio-economic impact of it's effects on the intelligence of the emotionally unbalanced and the mentally deficient.

I hope to acquire funding from the Suzuki Foundation among others that finance climate studies.

My source data comes from global sources. These sources are the daily published efforts of the public media; news organisations, broadcasters, general publishers etc.
Some of the data derives from the stated positions of politicians.
I won't bother to look where the data is too nebulous and scattered to be of any use so the study will discount the proclamations of celebrities and entertainers.

Preliminary analysis seems to indicate that global warming makes ordinary idiots into complete morons.

I'm sure this can be proven conclusively provided that I am funded adequately.

Given enough financial resources I am sure there can be a consensus among my fellow researchers.

We invite you to contribute to this important field of research.

The consequences of delay could be are sure to be catastrophic.

The group Honest Reporting Canada is pointing out another lame and disingenuous bit of "reporting" in the form of a rebroadcast of an Al Jazeera feature on Palestinian Prisoners in Israeli jails.

The piece itself was done by an ex -BBC reporter Jacky Rowland who herself is part of the cultural contribution of the Beeb to the Arab network where the BBC provides Leftists expert in the art of dissemination and Al Jazeera gets to put a European face and some slick polish on their propaganda.

Of course the Palistinians are regaled as brave fighters in the resistance and no mention is made of the fact that these are people who are in jail for planning, attempting and executing the murder of Israeli citizens among other things like weapons smuggling, armed robbery, kidnapping, extortion, drug smuggling and dealing and human trafficking. Scumbags of the first order.


And of course CBC makes no effort to provide background on the report or it's creators!

Al Jazeera - The BBC - and the CBC would have you believe that the prisoners were just innocent folks picked up on the street or nabbed from their beds by jackbooted Israeli Defense soldiers for no reason at all.....
